We've been around for a while.
Our firm first launched in the early 1980's, when our former partner, Larry Houk, opened his doors as Larry Houk, P.A. Elizabeth Houk, Larry's niece, joined the firm as an associate in 2011. Erika Toftness Kelly joined Larry and Elizabeth in 2012, and brought her own established practice to the firm. Erika purchased Larry's practice, and following his retirement in 2015, Erika and Elizabeth joined forces as partners, and reorganized as Toftness & Houk, PLLC. Erika and Elizabeth now partner together, as a women-owned law firm, that has a long history of providing exceptional client service. All told, our law firm has been practicing in the same location in Roseville for some 30-odd years.
Our firm serves families of all ages, in whatever stage of life they find us in. We also work with small businesses. We help families and small businesses plan for death, taxes, wealth and succession planning, and a whole lot of things in between. We advise on both income and estate tax strategies, incapacity, death planning, trust and will drafting, inter-family wealth and real estate transfers, and post-death planning, including estate and trust administration.
We assist families and small businesses in real estate transactions, and we counsel families on taxation related to gifting, both during life and at death. We assist small businesses with their formation, and help them with ongoing governance. In short, we help families do the things that need to be done - and that should be done - to help them plan for life, and the next generation.
